The traditional Hanukah song Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel meets Brazil! Lead tenor and trombone state the melody at the beginning. The first solo section is open for saxophones or rhythm; the second is open for trumpet or trombone. After the solos, the melody is stated in a four-voice fugue, a shout chorus, and a montuno figure that builds to the end. Instrumentation is 5-4-4-4 w/ opt. percussion, no doubles, and reasonable brass ranges (lead trumpet to C). Trumpet range: C. Medium.
